Patty has been a partner at Garlick & Markison since 2025. She has been a licensed patent attorney since 2016 and a registered patent agent since 2014. Patty earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University (Cum Laude) in 2013, and her J.D. from Arizona Summit Law School in 2016, graduating Summa Cum Laude as Valedictorian. While in law school, she served as a Law Review editor and worked on the Legal Writing Center staff. With a track record of securing over 140 issued patents, Patty brings deep experience in patent preparation and prosecution across a wide range of technologies—including biomedical sensors, signal processing, RFID, dispersed storage, cloud computing, AI, software, database systems, and digital ledger technologies. Her practice also includes ex parte reexaminations, inter partes review, patent valuations, infringement and validity opinions, and strategic portfolio counseling. Patty collaborates closely with clients to develop patent portfolios that are not only technically robust but also aligned with their business goals. Through advanced invention sessions and other proprietary tools developed at Garlick & Markison, she helps clients build smart, strategic coverage tailored to their technology and market position. Patty is a member of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association and the Intellectual Property Section of the American Bar Association. She is also committed to public service and provides pro bono legal support through the Florence Project, assisting immigrants and asylum seekers in Arizona.
